Answers to the most common questions:

TO REGISTER:

CLICK THE REGISTER BUTTON IN THE TOP LEFT HAND CORNER OF OUR WEBSITE or the Register here link in the program information pages. Creating a household account is possible before registration opens.

Age Groups:

Our system will automatically assign players to the correct age group based on birth year. Proof of age is required – upload a copy of a player’s birth certificate, passport or AHC card. OUSC Staff will delete all uploads once age is verified.

Special Requests:

In the info page of the registration process, there is a special requests section. We try to accommodate friend requests in the house league programs (First Kicks, Grassroots and Recreational) as long as players are born in the same birth year. For Development teams the same applies but unfortunately for Competitive teams friend requests cannot be accommodated.

Player Transfers:

There is a transfer process for all players new to our Club who have either recently moved to Okotoks or played soccer elsewhere - we have a section in the registration process for this. OUSC Staff will be in touch requesting the necessary information if this is your player.

Waivers:

We are now required to add 3 waivers/release forms from Alberta soccer (ASA) to our registration system. These are pre-populated from the registration information and need signatures from the parent/guardian completing the registration. At this time please ignore the need for a witness to sign the Waiver/Indemnity. For the Use of personal information release from we are awaiting clarification from ASA regarding the Opt-out process as it is not clear and will update the forms as soon as we can. If you have questions/concerns about signing this, please let us know. The list of examples ASA give as personal information that may be shared (only with their staff and Canada Soccer) is misleading. The only information we share is player name, date of birth, city, post code, parent email, current team info (age group, level, teamname) and for the Indoor season - if you played Outdoor (affects the fees we pay ASA and Canada Soccer). This info is required for insurance registration. The other examples given are either not shared with ASA (home address, phone # health conditions) or asked for by anyone.

Insurance:

All participants (coaches/players) are covered by ASA’s insurance for any accidents in a sanctioned soccer event. For more info, please contact the OUSC office admin@okotoksunitedsoccer.ca.

Field Locations and Days of Play:

All advertised field locations and days of play are subject to approval by the Town of Okotoks. Until the snow melts, field conditions cannot be determined so changes are possible. We base the advertised information on discussions with the Town in the September/October prior to the Outdoor season and again in January. Any changes will be communicated as soon as we are made aware of them.

Player Discount Policy:

OUSC has a player discount policy - the 3rd (youngest) and subsequent players from each family receive a 50% discount. This applies to families with all players living at the same address. To receive this discount please contact us at admin@okotoksunitedsoccer.ca and we'll send you the info on how to register.

Funding To Cover Fees:

To apply for Kidsport funding, apply to the chapter for the area you live in.

If you intend to apply for funding, please choose the pay by cash or cheque option when registering. PLEASE DO NOT PAY OUR FEES - we pay to receive your fees (credit card/bank fees) and return your money if you are approved for funding, so we would like to keep these costs down. When you have applied for funding, please email us with household name and date of application.
